Do You Make Your Home Business Plans “Long Term”?

by Mary Emma Allen on December 31st, 2007

Shannon Cherry has a great reminder at StartUp Spark, Have You Taken Time to Plan for the New Year?

“Oh, no, not another New Year’s resolutions reminder,” you say.

No, this isn’t the traditional “making your New Year’s list” (then never looking at it again) suggestion.  Shannon talks about making a plan of what you want to achieve for the year then orienting your daily/weekly/monthly activities to work toward it.

Of course, the unexpected may cause you to alter your strategy, but you should always be working toward that goal.  I’m good at making my daily “to do” list, but realize it isn’t always oriented toward to what I ultimately want to achieve.  It’s something like “putting out fires” as they occur.  And perhaps some of those fires occur because I’m not keeping my focus.

What about you?  If we have one resolution this New Year’s, let’s focus on what we want to achieve in our home business, income level, and family this year.

I made a “resolve” to do more with my business in 2008. I’m going to make this a banner year for my business for the New Year by reaching some long-awaited goals that I have set for myself.

Thanks for sharing, Bridget. I’m trying to set some workable goals with plans that I’ll stick with to reach them.
