Baby Boomer Entrepreneurs - Resources
We’ve talked about young entrepreneurs, but what about the older or baby boomer entrepreneur?
Many people past the traditional retirement age choose to work part time. Others work from home or set up their own small businesses.
The Prime Business Club offers a wealth of free resources for older entrepreneurs over 50. It is UK based and offers a forum. Even if you are not in the UK, I’m sure you’ll find the information on the site valuable.
I’m still searching to see if there is something similar in the US, Canada, Australia etc. Does anyone have information on this?

In reply to the question: What about the older or baby boomer entrepreneur. My company, AgoraNet, just became a partner of a local group called CODE, the Coalition of Organizations for Delaware Entrepreneurship. What our group does is provide ongoing workshops through out the state for entrepreneurs of all ages. Some of these workshops are “FREE” or a small charge of say $20. For instance, AgoraNet provides FREE Web Technology Workshops at different levels. There is a national website on Entrepreneurship that anyone can visit to find workshops/classes in your state. Visit: http://nationaleweek.com/state-calendars
Click on your state for your State Leadership Team’s Events Calendar for National Entrepreneurship Week. (Note: When you click on your state, it will launch a new window with a document file. This may take a few moments to download. If you don’t see a file open after a few moments make sure your popup blocker allows popups for this site.)
Trouble accessing the map above? Click here for a list of State Calendars.
I hope this is helpful! Go ahead and visit the national website. Entrepreneurship Week may be over, but the workshops are continuing all year long. Feel free to go to those businesses that may be interested in joining this consortium and ask if they would like to become a partner in this effort!
