Have You Tried Amazon’s Kindle Ebook Reader? Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down?
Mary Emma Allen recently recommended some free ebooks for small business owners.
I prefer to print out the PDF’s of ebooks rather than read them online. But as mobile devices meld more and more with computers, I may have to change my approach to reading ebooks.
Have you tried Amazon’s Kindle? Many Amazon books now come as Kindle ebook versions. I wonder if this is the way of the future.
The Geek From Kansas thinks there is a long way to go yet. He offers a less than flattering review of the Kindle ebook reader. What’s particularly interesting though, are his suggestions for how the Kindle could be improved.
I’m trying to think of times when I would want to use an ebook reader…. maybe for business, but definitely not for recreational reading… not cozy enough for me. I wonder what the “digital natives” who have grown up with technology as second nature think about this.
I like the Geek’s suggestion for being able to take your ebook reader into your local bookstore and getting the ebook downloaded right there and then. There will most likely be the pay per read or rental variations as well.
And how about you?
- Would (or do) you use an ebook reader?
- What would you like to see in your ideal ebook reader?
